IPL: Esteghlal Held by Paykan
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Esteghlal football team was held to a goalless draw against Paykan in Matchweek 5 of the Iran Professional League (IPL) on Tuesday.
The titleholder has a difficult task ahead in the current season since Persepolis, Sepahan, Gol Gohar and Foolad are favorites to win the title.
Ricardo Sa Pinto’s team will play Nassaji on Saturday in a must-win game in Tehran.
Esteghlal’s archrival Persepolis leads the table with 11 points, three points above the Blues.
