Iran, Turkey Resolved to Carry Out Comprehensive Cooperation Plan: Raisi

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi described Tehran and Ankara’s determination to bring a comprehensive and long-term cooperation plan into force as a basis for the fulfillment of their common interests.

In a message on Saturday, the Iranian president extended congratulations to his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Turkey’s Republic Day.

Describing Iran and Turkey as two independent states that oppose unilateralism, Raisi said the two age-old neighbors have numerous grounds for the promotion of relations in all fields.

He also noted that Iran and Turkey’s serious resolve to fully implement the long-term comprehensive cooperation plan has provided a bright prospect for strengthening the bonds and the fulfillment of their common goals and interests.

In a meeting with the Turkish president in Tehran in July, Raisi described the level of trade and economic ties with Turkey as insufficient, saying the volume of bilateral trade can triple to reach $30 billion annually.
