Iran Fails to Qualify for 2022 Asian Women's Handball Championship Final

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran lost to Japan 43-19 in the 2022 Asian Women's Handball Championship semifinals on Friday.

The Team will play the loser of South Korea and China match on Sunday.

Iran had previously defeated India, Uzbekistan and Australia and lost to South Korea in the competition.

Team Melli Banovan has already booked its place at the 2023 World Women's Handball Championship as one of top five teams.

The 2022 Asian Women's Handball Championship is the 19th edition of the Asian Women's Handball Championship. It is taking place in South Korea from November 24 to December 4.

The tournament is being held under the aegis of the Asian Handball Federation and acts as the Asian qualifying tournament for the 2023 World Women's Handball Championship, with the top five teams qualifying.
