Tough Task Ahead of Paykan at FIVB Club World Championship: Coach

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Paykan volleyball team head coach Peyman Akbari says he knows how strong their rivals are at the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship.

Paykan will play Brazilian club Itambe Minas in the opener early Thursday.

The Iranian club will also meet Italian side Trentino Itas a day later in Pool B.

Pool A consists of Brazilian clubs Sada Cruzeiro Vôlei and Vôlei Renata and Italian team Sir Safety Susa Perugia.

“We have been preparing for the Club World Championship for a month, so we had the time to work physically on our game,” Akbari said.

“We know that winning the tournament will be a very difficult task, but we feel that we are ready to play and to represent Iran and Asia well,” he added.

The 17th edition of the FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship will be held in Betim, Brazil from December 8 to 12.
