The Turkish president and Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian met in Ankara on Tuesday.
Erdogan described the relations between Turkey and Iran as important and excellent.
He also highlighted the important role that Iran plays in the Astana peace talks, saying Tehran can definitely be of effective help to new approaches.
The Turkish leader and the Iranian foreign minister also talked about cooperation between the two neighbors in the fields of energy, transportation, tourism, trade, science and technology, and communications. They emphasized that there are no limits to the development of ties between the two nations and governments.
They also talked about a planned visit by Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to Ankara in the near future, expressing readiness to hold the 8th high commission of bilateral ties during the upcoming presidential visit.
They also underlined the significance of the 3+3 meeting over the Caucasus issues, the three-way meeting of Iran, Turkey and Iraq, and the trilateral meeting of Iran, Turkey and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Amirabdollahian said Iran is prepared for making efforts to reach the target ceiling of bilateral trade with Turkey.
He expressed pleasure with the start of a process between Ankara and Damascus, expressing hope that it would result in peace and stability between the two countries.
