In a statement on Wednesday, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kanaani expressed condolences to the Ukrainian people and government and families of victims of the incident.

He also wished a speedy recovery for the people injured in the disaster.

At least 16 people, including Ukrainian interior minister Denys Monastyrskyy, two other top officials, and at least three children were killed on Wednesday when a helicopter crashed near a nursery outside Kiev.
