Palestinian Resistance Group Warns of Retaliation after Israeli Demolition of Homes

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Palestinian resistance group Lions' Den issued a warning that it will respond to the Israeli regime’s increased trend of destruction of Palestinian homes in the occupied West Bank.

The Nablus-based group stated that the demolition of homes in the city of al-Quds will be met with a response that will destabilize the security of the Israeli regime and settlers in all West Bank streets.

The group also called on Palestinians to engage in civil disobedience against the Israeli government. The group emphasized that Friday would be the beginning of an intensification of anger and tensions, and a decisive, historic stage in the Palestinian people's struggle.

Lions' Den urged Palestinians to stand against Israeli regime prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu's extremist cabinet, which has initiated a new wave of forced evictions and demolitions of Palestinian homes in order to expand illegal Israeli settlements across the occupied territories.

In its statement, addressed to Israel’s so-called national security minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, Lions’ Den had warned that its members are thirsty for beheading Israeli officials and the regime’s cowardly soldiers.

The group vowed to "come to you inside your houses... We work in silence and our soldiers are unknown."

Ben-Gvir has pledged to take a more aggressive stance against Palestinian homes deemed illegal in the occupied lands, describing the building of new settlements as "Israel's mission and doctrine."

Earlier this week, UN experts urged the international community to take action against Israel's systematic and deliberate demolition of homes, arbitrary displacement, and forced expulsion of Palestinians in the West Bank. The experts stated that "The systematic demolition of Palestinian homes, erection of illegal Israeli settlements and systematic denial of building permits for Palestinians in the occupied West Bank amounts to 'domicide.'" The experts reported that in January 2023, Israeli authorities demolished 132 Palestinian structures across 38 West Bank communities, representing a 135 percent increase compared to the same period in 2022.

Israel frequently demolishes Palestinian homes in the occupied West Bank and East al-Quds under the pretext of being built without a permit. However, the Israeli regime rarely, if ever, approves such permits for Palestinians, and sometimes orders Palestinian owners to demolish their own homes or pay the costs of demolition.
