TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated on Monday that the further strengthening of relationships with Islamic countries is among the priority areas of Russia's foreign policy.

Speaking at a meeting of the Russia-Islamic World Strategic Vision Group, Lavrov said, "Russia, the biggest Eurasian power, a state, a civilization, maintains good, fair, mutually respectful relations with all countries of the Islamic world. Their further development is among the continuing priorities of Russia's foreign policy."

Lavrov also emphasized that Russia and its Muslim allies advocate for a fairer and more democratic world order that is based on the principles of the United Nations Charter. Furthermore, Lavrov rejected the aggressive imposition of ultraliberal values by the collective West.
