Iran Commends Iraq's Role in Restoring Relations with Saudi Arabia

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran's ambassador to Baghdad, Mohammad Kazem Al-e Sadeq, expressed gratitude to Iraq for its efforts to facilitate recent dialogue with Saudi Arabia during a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia Al-Sudani on Monday night.

Al-e Sadeq conveyed Iran's appreciation for Iraq's role in creating convergence in views that led to a joint statement on the resumption of bilateral relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia on March 10.

Meanwhile, the Iraqi Prime Minister's Office released a statement, saying that the two sides also discussed ways to promote bilateral relations and their people's interests.

During the meeting, Al-Sudani emphasized Iraq's balanced position and policy of supporting dialogue to achieve stability in the region and sustainable development for all friendly nations.
