Tehran-Cologne Flight Lands Timely despite Workers’ Strike in Germany

EHRAN (Tasnim) – An official at Iran’s national flag carrier said that Iran Air’s flight en route from Tehran to Cologne landed timely on Friday with the incessant follow-ups of the concerned officials and Iran Air’s office in Germany in spite of workers’ walkout in Germany’s Cologne Airport.

Hesam Ghorbanali told reporters on Saturday, “It is for some time that workers’ walkout at German arirports in Frankfurt, Hamburg and Colgone is ongoing due to pay and work conditions in a way that flights at the ariport either have faced eye-catching delays or been canceled.”

Yesterday, the Tehran-Cologne flight was the only flight that landed with only 10 minutes delay despite the workers’ strikes at Cologne Airport, he said.

A rare number of flights were allowed to land and take off at the airport but the Tehran-Cologne flight landed almost on time, he added.

Hundreds of flights were canceled at four German airports on Friday as security staff walked off the job due to an ongoing dispute over pay and work conditions.
