Esteghlal GM Fathollahzadeh Resigns
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Ali Fathollahzadeh, the general manager of Esteghlal, announced his resignation on Saturday.
After the Iranian club was reportedly expelled from the 2023 AFC Champions League, Fathollahzadeh stepped down from his post.
Esteghlal is the most decorated Iranian team in the tournament and was crowned champion of Asia in 1970 and 1991.
The team was reportedly expelled from this year’s Asian tournament after having its licenses withdrawn by the Asian Football Confederation.
