Iranian, Lebanese Foreign Ministers Discuss Bilateral, Regional Issues

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hossein Amirabdollahian, met with his Lebanese counterpart to discuss various bilateral, regional, and international issues.

Amirabdollahian who is in Beirut to meet with Lebanese officials, held talks with Abdullah Bou Habib, the Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs, on a range of topics of interest to both countries in various fields.

During the meeting, the Iranian top diplomat emphasized the importance of the relationship between the two countries, including the development of economic relations and the promotion of relations in various dimensions. He also offered Iran's expertise in power plant construction and operation to help resolve the energy and electricity crisis in Lebanon.

The Iranian Foreign Minister called on Lebanese officials to hold a dialogue regarding the presidential election and completing the political process in the country as soon as possible.

Amirabdollahian also expressed his concerns about the dangers of the Zionist regime for peace and security in the region and highlighted the developments that led to the Tehran-Riyadh talks to resume relations between the two countries.

Abdullah Bou Habib, the Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs, welcomed the agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia and expressed hope for its positive effects in the region, particularly on his own country regarding the current situation. The two foreign ministers also discussed developments in Palestine, Afghanistan, Yemen, Sudan, and Ukraine.

During the meeting, the Iranian Foreign Minister also expressed concern about the internal conflicts in Sudan and explained the Islamic Republic's position regarding non-support for the war in Ukraine.
