Gabon Keen to Use Iran’s Experiences in War on Terrorism

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The foreign minister of Gabon expressed his country’s willingness to take advantage of Iran’s experiences in the fight against terrorism.

In a meeting with his Iranian counterpart, held in Cape Town on Saturday, Hermann Immongault described Iran’s scientific, industrial and technical capabilities and progress as good ground for mutual cooperation.

He also noted that Gabon needs the experiences of Iran, which is a renowned country in the fight against terrorism.

Expressing the Central African country’s willingness to broaden ties with Iran in various fields, Immongault said six bilateral agreements lay the necessary legal basis for mutual cooperation.

For his part, Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said Iran is prepared to share its capabilities, including industrial, technical, scientific and medical achievements, with friendly nations, such as Gabon.

He also stressed the need to strengthen cooperation and consultations between Tehran and Libreville in the international arena, noting that their international interaction has been always on the right track.

The Iranian foreign minister has traveled to South Africa for a ministerial meeting of BRICS.
