He beat Cyrus Chang Chi Hin from Hong Kong 15-6, Kuwait’s Mohammed Al Fadhli 15-11, Japanese fencer Kento Yoshida 15-13 and Ho Tin Low of Hong Kong 15-11 en route to the final.

Pakdaman’s countryman Mohammad Rahbari won a bronze medal in the discipline.
