Iran’s FM Goes to Kuwait after Political, Economic Talks in Oman

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian left Muscat for Kuwait City on Wednesday on a tour of the Persian Gulf region.

The top Iranian diplomat, who had already visited Qatar, held meetings with top Omani officials in Muscat on Wednesday.

In one of the meetings, Amirabdollahian and his Omani counterpart Sayyid Badr Albusaidi talked about a broad range of issues, including the implementation of the agreements signed during the Sultan of Oman’s recent visit to Tehran, and the promotion of cooperation between the two countries in the energy industry, transportation sector, banking, communication and technology, as well as the consular, judicial and customs affairs.

The Iranian foreign minister also held talks with Oman’s Minister of the Royal Office Sultan bin Mohammed al Numani.

The two ministers discussed the regional developments, particularly in Yemen. They both emphasized the need for joint efforts to contribute to the political processes, stability and sustainable calm in Yemen and relieve the pains of the Yemeni people.

Amirabdollahian left Muscat for Kuwait on Wednesday.
