TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Syrian citizens in the occupied Golan engaged in clashes with Israeli forces on Wednesday due to the construction of wind turbines in the occupied heights.

The protests took place near the town of Majdal Shams, with hundreds of Syrians gathering in opposition to the Israeli occupation's plan to establish wind turbines on their agricultural lands.

According to Syrian media, the Israeli occupation deployed significant reinforcements and closed off all roads leading to the al-Hafayer area, where the wind turbines are set to be built, as reported by SANA news agency.

Reports indicate that four demonstrators were seriously injured, one of whom was injured by gunfire, while three sustained moderate injuries and one had minor injuries. Israeli media stated that twelve Israeli occupation police officers were wounded during the clashes.

The mayor of Daliyat al-Karmel, a Druze town, Rafik Halabi, stated that the protests could escalate into an "intifada" and that the community was deeply angered by Israel's policies and planning laws.
