The Iranian Foreign Ministry confirmed that the 90-minute meeting included discussions on further cooperation in various fields. The ministry stated that Amirabdollahian extended an invitation to Sheikh Mohammed to visit Iran, while the UAE president invited Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi to visit the Arab country.
Both parties expressed satisfaction with the progress made in expanding bilateral relations and reached an agreement on the need for coordination, planning, and joint action to enhance bilateral cooperation, particularly in the commercial and economic sectors. They also agreed to implement initiatives aimed at strengthening regional cooperation based on the shared interests of the countries and the peoples of the region.
In addition to bilateral matters, the meeting addressed several regional and international issues of mutual concern.
This meeting follows the recent restoration of ties between Iran and Saudi Arabia after seven years, with China playing a mediating role. The two countries have reopened their embassies and conducted high-level official visits.
