Energy Cooperation Can Turn Iran, Qatar into Gas Hubs in Region: VP

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s first vice president said that energy cooperation between Iran and Qatar can turn the two countries into gas hubs in the region.

Economy

Mohammad Mokhber made the remarks in Tehran during his meeting on Monday with Qatar’s Minister of Labor Ali bin Samih al-Marri, adding that Tehran-Doha economic transactions over the past years have not been commensurate with their high-level political relations and the two sides need to boost their ties.

Mokhber voiced Iran’s readiness to export technical and engineering services, meet the needs of Qatar’s agricultural sector, and enter into joint ventures, SHANA reported.

The visiting Qatari labor minister expressed his gratitude to Iran for supporting Qatar in international meetings and assemblies, adding the Qatari government and people will never forget Iran’s stances in times of hardship and crisis.

The meetings between the Qatari emir and Iran’s president show the two governments’ willingness to develop bilateral relations in different fields, Samih al-Marri added.
