Iran defeated the US 3-1 in its first match but the match against Brazil was halted after Iran middle blocker Yousef Kazemi suffered a foot injury.

Iran participated in the event as part of preparation for the 2023 FIVB Volleyball Men's U-21 World Championship, scheduled for July 7 to 16 in Manama, Bahrain.

Iran is drawn in Pool A along with Bahrain, Tunisia and Thailand.
