IRCS to Set Up Equipped Healthcare, Treatment Centers in Central Asia

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) will launch healthcare and treatment centers in Central Asia in order to expand its activity in the humanitarian field, the deputy head of the IRCS said.

Payman Namdar said new healthcare and treatment centers would be inaugurated in Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, which will play a leading role in boosting the health diplomacy of the country.

Such interaction has become more serious following the bolstering of relations with Central Asian states since the administration of President Ebrahim Raisi took office and visits made by high-ranking officials of these countries to Iran, he added, FARS news agency reported.

As the responsible body for launching healthcare and treatment centers overseas, the IRCS is ready to launch these centers with the aim of expansion of health diplomacy, Namdar stated.

The Iranian Red Crescent Society, with its long years of experience, is diligently pursuing its inherent duties in line with the development of humanitarian activities in less advantaged and underprivileged parts of the world, he said, adding that it is currently managing several healthcare centers in Latin America, Africa and Asia.
