"The sides discussed topical issues of bilateral military and military-technical cooperation. They exchanged opinions on the issues of bilateral security. The sides reaffirmed their intention to deepen dialogue and increase the level of development of contact in the defense sphere," stated the ministry, TASS reported.
The Iranian military delegation arrived in Moscow earlier in the week. On August 21, Russian Ground Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleg Salyukov and Commander of the Iranian Army’s Ground Forces Kiumars Heydari also engaged in discussions regarding military cooperation and interaction with the aim of enhancing the combat readiness of their respective armed forces.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported that both sides reached an agreement to further enhance cooperation between their ground forces in various domains.
During his visit, Heydari conducted a series of bilateral talks and visited technology and training centers throughout the country.
