Sarlak Sending Off Worked against Persepolis: Golmohammadi

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Persepolis football team head coach Yahya Golmohammadi says that Milad Sarlak being sent off worked against his plan in the match with Al Nassr.

Al Nassr defeated Persepolis of Iran 2-0 Tuesday night in Group E of the 2023-24 AFC Champions League.

Abdulrahman Ghareeb scored the opener for the Saudi Arabian team in the 62nd minute and Mohammed Qassem made it 2-0 in the 72nd minute.

“The game was affected by very bad events for us, first Mehdi Torabi's injury, then the dismissal of Milad Sarlak. After that (the sending off), we conceded and couldn't find a way back,” Golmohammadi said.

“We started the second half better, but Sarlek's dismissal worked against us. Congratulations to Al Nassr but for us, these big games help identify our weaknesses so that we can become stronger,” he added.
