Iranian Female Rowers Claim Silver in 2022 Asian Games

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Mahsa Javer and Zeinab Norouzi Tazehkand won a silver medal in the women's double sculls on Sunday.

The Iranian pair finished second with a time of 7:17.08 minutes at the Fuyang Water Sports Centre to win the country’s first medal in the 2022 Asian Games.

Chinese pair Lu Shiyu and Shen Shuangmei won the gold medal, clocking 7:6.78 minutes.

Nuntida Krajangjam and Parisa Chaempudsa of Thailand seized the bronze with 7:21.70.

A record high of nearly 12,500 athletes from 45 countries and territories compete across 40 sports in the Asian Games.

Iran has sent 289 male and female athletes to the Games in 34 sports events.
