During a ceremony held on Thursday, two of the plant's units were inaugurated, marking a significant milestone in the reconstruction process.
Syrian Prime Minister Hussein Arnous, who attended the event, emphasized the importance of the strategic relations between Syria and Iran, stating that these relations serve the interests of both nations.
This power plant, which originally consisted of five units, previously generated over 1,000 megawatts of electricity in 2015 before being damaged by Daesh terrorists.
The revitalized units of the plant have now contributed approximately 400 megawatts to Syria's power grid.
Iran's MAPNA Group has taken on the task of rehabilitating a portion of the Aleppo power plant, and Iran's Consul General to Aleppo, Navab Nouri, expressed Iran's commitment to completing the rehabilitation of the remaining three units.
He underlined the significance of electrical energy and its prioritization in Iran's economic agenda. Nouri stated, "Iran is taking serious measures to complete the remaining phases of Aleppo thermal power plant."
Iran's advisory mission in Syria, conducted at the request of the Syrian government, played a vital role in Syria's victory over Daesh and the reclamation of previously held territories from terrorists.
Tehran has consistently reaffirmed its readiness to support Syria in its post-war reconstruction efforts.
