Iran Blasts Israel’s Push for Forced Displacement of Gazans

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Foreign Ministry condemned the Zionist regime’s plots to force the Palestinians out of the Gaza Strip.

In a statement on Saturday, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kanaani strongly condemned the diverse military and propaganda activities of the Zionist regime and a number of its sponsors with the aim of paving the way for the forced displacement of Palestinian people from the Gaza Strip.

He said such Israeli attempts, along with the escalation of the siege on Gaza and blocking food, water, electricity and medical supplies into the enclave, amount to war crimes and brazen violations of international law.

The spokesman also called on international organizations, including the United Nations, to take immediate and effective measures to stop the apartheid Zionist regime’s lunatic crimes.

The Israeli regime has been pounding the Gaza Strip for a week. At least 2,215 Palestinians have been killed and 8,714 wounded in Israeli air attacks on Gaza.

The rising toll comes as the Israeli regime continues bombing Gaza a day after telling 1.1 million residents to head south ahead of a looming ground offensive following Hamas’s attack outside Gaza last week.
