Iran Ready to Export Hydroelectricity Energy Generation Technology to Niger: Minister


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s energy minister said the country is ready to export the technology of generating hydroelectricity energy to Niger.

Speaking in a meeting with Niger’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Yau Sangare Bakary on Tuesday, Ali Akbar Mehrabian emphasized the significance of strengthening cooperation between the two countries, especially in the field of generating electricity.

Pointing to the policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the restoration of interaction and cooperation with different countries, Mehrabian stated that Iran and Niger have high potentials to enhance their relations in all fields.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the energy minister referred to the appropriate capability and capacity of Niger for the generation of electricity and added that Niger is home to a vast river and high capacity for the construction of a hydroelectricity power plant.

Niger’s foreign minister, for his part, pointed to the longstanding and age-old relations with Iran and emphasized enhancing cooperation and coordination between the two sides.
