Amir Moghaddam put the annual revenue generated by the transit of goods through the port at about $1 billion.

In response to a question on the construction of an airport in the Chabahar Free Zone, he said that the demarcation of the new airport has been carried out, and its construction operation will start after the necessary licenses are received.

Moghaddam pointed to the attraction of investment within the framework of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and said that foreign investors have shown interest in investing in the Chabahar Free Zone.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he pointed to the 158 percent growth in the entry of containerized goods to the port and said the launch of direct and regular shipping lines from ports in China and India was one of the main targets which became operational in November 2022 in cooperation with the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
