Iran, Saudi Arabia Discuss Plans for OIC Summit on Gaza
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian and Saudi foreign ministers talked about collective efforts to end the Israeli war on Gaza, including an upcoming extraordinary summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on the crisis.
In a telephone conversation on Monday, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud discussed the latest developments surrounding Palestine.
The two senior diplomats talked about the OIC’s upcoming extraordinary summit about Gaza and also weighed plans to force the Israeli regime to stop the war crimes against Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank and ensure the constant delivery of humanitarian aids to the besieged enclave.
The OIC is going to hold an extraordinary summit in Riyadh on November 12 at the invitation of Saudi Arabia in its capacity as the chair of the Islamic Summit.
At least 10,022 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza and 152 other killed in occupied West Bank since October 7, when Hamas fighters launched a surprise operation outside Gaza.
As heavy bombardment continues across Gaza, 18 UN and other humanitarian organizations have issued statement calling for an “immediate humanitarian ceasefire”.
