Israeli Military Forces Evacuation of Al-Shifa Hospital

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Israeli regime’s forces instructed everyone at al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza, including doctors, patients, and displaced individuals, to evacuate the medical compound within an hour.

Omar Zaqout, emergency supervisor, stated that Israeli forces compelled him and others to vacate the hospital, describing scenes outside as "appalling."

"We were told to leave through al-Wehda road. Dozens of dead bodies are scattered on the road," Zaqout told Al Jazeera. "Many homeless people who cannot walk are left out in the open."

Zaqout highlighted the lack of water supply at al-Shifa for over a week, resulting in an "absence of hygiene and cleanliness."

"The electrical power has been out for more than three weeks. Infants and newborn babies are left without oxygen. It is nothing but a medieval cave," he lamented.

Reports from the hospital indicate widespread panic and fear among patients, medical staff, and families following the army's evacuation order.

The lack of functioning ambulances poses a challenge in transporting a large number of patients to the south as ordered.

Despite requests for assistance, including ambulances, transportation means, and fuel, no support or solutions have been provided by the Israeli regime's army.

During a similar incident at al-Quds Hospital, Dr. Bashar Murad's appeals for transportation means or fuel were unanswered, forcing them to move patients on foot.

However, the situation at al-Shifa Hospital is more critical, with over 300 patients, most in critical condition, unable to make the journey to the south on hospital beds.

The Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7 have led to at least 12,000 casualties.
