Nassaji, Mumbai City Will Play for Pride: AFC

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Nassaji and Mumbai City will be playing for pride when they square off in Group D of the AFC Champions League 2023-24 on Tuesday.

Both teams have no chance of advancing to the Round of 16, with Iran's Nassaji looking to confirm third place in the group, the-afc.com reported.

Nassaji would have expected much more after defeating Mumbai City 2-0 in its Matchday One clash.

Things, however, have not gone according to plan since that victory as it was followed by defeats to Saudi Arabia's Al Hilal SFC and Navbahor of Uzbekistan.

Mumbai City's situation has been even more dire with the Indian side yet to register a point while head coach Des Buckingham has departed to pursue an opportunity with English third-tier side Oxford United.

Having impressed in its AFC Champions League debut last season, Mumbai City will look to close out its campaign on a high note.
