Yemen’s Seizure of Israeli Ships Unrelated to Iran, Gesture of Support for Palestine: Spokesman

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran has nothing to do with the seizure of Israeli-linked ships by Yemeni forces, who have done so in support of the Palestinian nation, the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson said.

Speaking to reporters at a weekly press conference on Monday, Nasser Kanaani dismissed any connection between Iran and the Yemeni Ansarullah movement’s recent seizure of Israeli-linked vessels in the Red Sea.

The Yemeni forces have announced that their measures have nothing to do with Iran, as the Ansarullah officials made it clear that they are not bound by limited options when it comes to countering the Zionist regime’s crimes, the spokesman added.

“Ansarullah had announced that it would take action against targets linked with the Zionist regime in order to support the Palestinian nation. The support for Palestine is not confined to Yemen as the other nations in the region and the world have also taken action,” Kanaani said.

“What Yemen did is similar to what other nations have done in support of Palestine,” he stated.

The spokesman said the mass rallies across the globe indicate the growing international support for Palestine and that the world nations cannot stand the Israeli regime’s atrocities anymore.
