The envoy pointed to the friendly ties between Iran and Bangladesh and said the two countries have longstanding historical and cultural commonalities that can help enhance the level of bilateral relations in all fields.
He also referred to the unilateral US sanctions imposed against Iran, which have created many problems for economic activists, and said the private sector of Iran has successfully managed to bypass sanctions.
Both the Iranian and Bangladeshi governments have always tried to neutralize US sanctions imposed against Iran in order to further expand their trade and economic relations, he said, adding that Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) play a leading role in spurring economic ties between the two countries.
