Iran will be turned into an exporting country with a focus on knowledge-based companies, Mehdi Zeyghami, said, speaking at a news conference on the 6th edition of the Export Potentials Exhibition of the Islamic Republic of Iran on Tuesday.
He noted that the redirection of trade and economic activities of the country will be taken into consideration in the current administration by holding the expo.
The deputy minister of industry pointed to the previous edition of the exhibition and said that giant strides were taken in line with promoting the export of non-oil goods and also expanding Iran’s trade ties with the world.
He went on to say that 3,000 traders participated in the previous edition of the exhibition and it is expected that more than 4,000 businesspersons would participate in the 6th edition.
Iran has high capabilities in the mineral, petrochemical and handicraft sectors, and many foreign officials are interested in participating in the upcoming edition of the exhibition, he stated.
The TPOI is seeking to increase the number of export target markets, he noted, adding that the way has been paved for the knowledge-based companies to export their products.
The Sixth Export Potentials Exhibition of the Islamic Republic of Iran will be held in Tehran from April 27 to May 5, 2024.
