Pilot Survives After Military Plane Crashes South of Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The pilot of a military aircraft ejected safely after his warplane crashed in Iran’s southern province of Fars on Saturday.

The director general of the Fars Airports organization said the military training jet has crashed near Lake Parishan, southeast of Kazerun city.

Fakhreddin Keshavarz said a technical failure caused the crash, noting that the pilot landed safely after activating the ejection seat system.

Tasnim has learned that the doomed plane was a Sukhoi fighter jet belonging to the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force.

Similar accidents involving the same Russian-made fighter jets happened in the province of Fars in August 2022 and in Hormozgan province in September 2022.
