Persepolis Edges Nassaji, Sepahan Loses to Gol Gohar: IPL


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Persepolis football team defeated Nassaji 1-0 in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium, while Iran Professional League (IPL) leader Sepahan lost to Gol Gohar 3-1 in Sirjan on Thursday.

Shahab Zahedi was on target for the Persepolis in the 31st minute.

The Reds of Tehran are second behind Esteghlal in the table due to an inferior goal difference.

Earlier in the day, Gol Gohar defeated 10-man Sepahan 3-1.

Alireza Alizadeh found the back of the net for Gol Gohar in the 14th minute. Sepahan was reduced to 10-man after midfielder Arshia Sarshogh received his second yellow card in the 47th minute.

Spanish midfielder Roberto Torres made the scoreboard 2-0 in the 53rd minute. Sepahan forward Shahriyar Moqanlou halved the deficit in the 59th minute, but with two minutes remaining, Masih Zahedi scored Gol Gohar’s third goal.
