Iran Claims Two Golds at 2024 Karate 1-Series A Athens

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Masoumeh Mohsenian and Saleh Abazari won two gold medals in the 2024 Karate 1-Series A Athens on Sunday.

Mohsenian beat France’s Chloe Breuzard in the final match of the Female Kumite -50 Kg.

Abazari defeated Turkey’s Umut Eren Gündog 6-2 in the Male Kumite 84+ Kg.

Iran’s Mahdi Ashouri also won a bronze medal in the Male Kumite 84+ Kg.

The season of Karate 1-Series A 2024 is being held at the Ano Liosia Olympic Hall in Athens (Greece) from January 12 to 15.

A total of 1090 karate athletes from 81 countries have participated in the tournament.

The Karate1-Premier League is the most important league event in the world of karate. It comprises a number of the most prominent karate competitions and endeavors to bring together the best karate athletes in the world in an open championship of unprecedented scale and quality.

Initiated in 2011 with two tournaments held in Paris and Istanbul, the Karate1-Premier League has made exponential progress in terms of magnitude and status of the tournaments as well as the number of participants and countries represented.
