Israeli Forces Detain 35 Palestinians in Latest West Bank Raids
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Israeli regime’s forces have detained 35 Palestinians in the latest series of raids across the West Bank, as reported by the Palestinian news agency Wafa.
The arrests included 16 people in Hebron, six, including two former prisoners, in Jenin, two in Qalqilya as well as 11 people, including one minor, in Ramallah.
Since October 7, more than 5,800 Palestinians have been detained in the occupied West Bank. Concurrently, multiple raids have unfolded, with military vehicles and bulldozers entering various areas around Nablus.
The Ein el-Sultan refugee camp in Jericho witnessed the Israeli military surrounding a house, intensifying nightly raids that have claimed the lives of 355 Palestinians, including 94 children.
Over 4,000 others were injured, and around 6,000 were detained, with some raids lasting for days.
In the aftermath of the latest occupied West Bank raids, significant incursions occurred in Jericho, Ramallah, Hebron, and Qalqilya. Israeli military vehicles and armored bulldozers caused extensive destruction in Qalqilya, employing a tactic viewed by Palestinians as a form of collective punishment.
The Israeli army surrounded the house of a Palestinian man in Jericho, demanding surrender from family members. The situation has prompted the redeployment of an elite unit from Gaza to the West Bank.
Additionally, Israeli settler attacks persist, with dozens assaulting Palestinian vehicles in Sinjil.
Multiple raids and arrests have also been reported in locations such as the Batn al-Hawa neighborhood in Ramallah, the town of Idhna west of Hebron, the Ein al-Sultan camp in Jericho, Qalqilya, and Beit Rima northwest of Ramallah.
Over the past two years, the Israeli army has intensified crackdowns on Palestinians in the West Bank, particularly since October 7.
Palestinians describe the situation as reaching a boiling point.
In addition to the military presence, armed Israeli settlers in illegal settlements, numbering around 700,000, pose an additional threat. Many settlers have become heavily armed since the war on Gaza began, committing crimes against Palestinians without facing consequences.
