Tehran to Host 2nd Intl. Iran-Africa Economic Meeting: TPOI Deputy
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The second edition of the International Iran-Africa Economic Meeting will be held at the Tehran International Conferences Center on April 27-30, 2024 with the participation of more than 40 African countries, an official at the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) said.
The preliminary meeting of the 2nd International Iran-Africa Meeting was held in the presence of Iran’s Deputy Minister and Head of the TPOI Mehdi Zeyqami, Deputy TPOI Chief for International Businesses Promotion Affairs Mohammad Sadeq Qannadzadeh and a number of representatives of the various departments of the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade.
It will be held in Tehran concurrent with the Iran EXPO 2024, Zeyqami stated.
He added that the TPOI, as the responsible body for the country’s foreign trade, intends to hold the meeting in Tehran at the level of the economy ministers of African countries, Mehr news agency reported.
The world attaches importance trade with African countries, he said, adding that effective steps should be taken to promote trade and economic ties with Africa.
Africa is home to one-fifth of the world’s population and holds about 30% of the mineral reserves, 12% of oil, 8% of the natural gas and 50% of the world’s gold reserves.
