Iran’s President Urges Collective Support for Palestine in Ramadan Message

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi congratulated Muslim nations on the start of the holy month of Ramadan, expressing hope that close fraternity among Islamic countries would provide effective support for Palestine in its struggle against the Zionist regime.

In a message on Monday evening, Raisi congratulated the leaders and people of Islamic countries on the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.

He said the Islamic countries are duty-bound to encourage and promote peace and brotherhood among Muslims and to expand the spiritual space and unity among the members of the Islamic Ummah.

"This dear month is a great opportunity for all Muslims to unite their souls with spirituality by appealing to and clinging to divine teachings, especially the Holy Quran, and through sincere prayers, and provide the means for their own and the Islamic society's advancement," the president stated, his official website reported.

He expressed confidence that the Palestinian people’s constant struggle and the continued and serious support from the Islamic world will help Palestine return to the arms of the Islamic world by God's grace.

The Iranian president also expressed hope that with the blessing of Ramadan, “we will be able to take effective steps to fight the oppression and exploitation of the hegemons, especially the usurping Zionist regime, and witness the honor and pride of Muslims, especially the oppressed nation of Palestine, in all fields.”

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and a time when Muslims across the world fast during the hours of daylight.

Muslims’ holy book, the Quran, was first revealed to the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) in this month.
