Foreign Trade Value at Kaveh Special Economic Zone’s Customs Hits $2 bln

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An official at the customs office of the Kaveh Special Economic Zone in Iran’s Saveh County put the foreign trade value of the customs office in the previous Iranian calendar year (ended March 19, 2024) at about $2 billion, showing a 13% growth compared to a year earlier.

More than 1.122 million tons of goods, valued at $1.934 billion, were unloaded at the customs office of Kaveh Special Economic Zone from March 21, 2023 to March 19, 2024, registering an 11 and a 13 percent hike in weight and value respectively compared to the previous year, the manager of the customs office said, IRNA reported.

Qassem Motallebi added that more than 264,000 tons of non-oil goods, valued at $685 million, were imported into the Kaveh Special Economic Zone in this period, showing a 69 and a 37 percent growth in volume and value respectively compared to a year before.

More than 500,000 tons of products including oil derivatives, crystals and glasses, sanitary and edible products were exported from the customs office between March 21, 2023 and March 19, 2024, he stated.
