In a phone conversation with Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric on Thursday, Amirabdollahian conveyed his congratulations on Djuric's new role

Reiterating Iran's principle of respecting national sovereignty and territorial integrity, Amirabdollahian underscored Iran's dedication to upholding Serbia's sovereignty.

Djuric, newly appointed as Serbia's foreign minister, affirmed his country's resolve to enhance bilateral relations with Iran across various domains and to sustain collaborative efforts on the global stage.

Both foreign ministers emphasized the importance of ongoing dialogue to enhance mutual ties and to engage in further discussions on critical regional and international matters.

Serbia stands out as Iran's key political ally in the Western Balkans, notably as the sole country in the region that has refrained from adhering to the European Union's sanctions against the Islamic Republic.
