Iran Falls Short against Brazil: 2024 VNL
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran lost to Brazil 3-1 (25-19, 22-25, 25-16, 25-23) in Week 2 of the 2024 Volleyball Nations League (VNL) in Fukuoka, Japan, on Thursday.
Alan Souza collected 20 points for Brazil and Amin Esmaeilnezhad scored 24 points for Iran.
Iran had lost to Japan 3-0 in its first match.
Team Melli is scheduled to meet Bulgaria on Friday.
The VNL Preliminary Phase features three competition weeks per gender, with each of the 16 teams playing 12 matches. The seven best-ranked national teams in the Preliminary Phase will join hosts Poland for the Finals, which will be held in Lodz from June 27 to 30.
