Five Children among Nine Killed in Israeli Strike on Gaza's Bureij Camp

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – At least nine people, including five children, were killed in an Israeli air attack on the Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, according to reports.

Palestine's Wafa news agency, citing local sources, stated that the attack targeted a gathering of civilians near the Abu Rasas roundabout in the camp.

Witnesses confirmed that the children were playing in the streets when the bombing occurred.

Verified video footage from Al Jazeera’s fact-checking agency, Sanad, showed the dead and injured children arriving at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.

The footage documented the harrowing moments of fathers bidding farewell to their dead children.

These videos are too distressing to be included in this article.

Local sources reiterated to Wafa news agency that Israeli bombs targeted a gathering of civilians near the Abu Rasas roundabout in the camp.

The death toll in Gaza has risen to 26 since early morning, with dozens more wounded, as reported by Wafa.

An Al Jazeera correspondent reported that Israeli artillery shelling killed at least one person and injured several others near the Maghribi junction in the Sabra neighborhood of southern Gaza City.

In a separate incident, Israeli bombardment killed three civilians in the Tal as-Sultan neighborhood in the west of Rafah, southern Gaza.

Israeli Apache helicopters have also opened fire on the western areas of Rafah, according to Wafa news agency.

At least 38,243 people have been killed and 88,243 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza since October 7.
