Azeri Leader Invites Iranian President-Elect to Visit Baku

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev invited Iranian President-Elect Masoud Pezeshkian to visit Baku after taking office.

In a telephone conversation on Tuesday night, the Azeri president invited Pezeshkian to pay a visit to Baku after being inaugurated as the president of Iran.

The Iranian president-elect accepted the offer and extended a reciprocal invitation to the Azeri president to come to Tehran for an official visit.

Pezeshkian, a physician-turned-politician, won the Iranian presidential runoff election on July 5 by winning 53.66% of the votes.

His new administration, the 14th one after the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, will hold office for four years.
