Pezeshkian on Wednesday sent a message for Ismail Haniyeh, the leader of Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, thanking him for the congratulatory message on the election victory.
The Iranian president-elect reaffirmed his forthcoming administration’s commitment to observing the principles and causes of the Islamic Revolution.
Pezeshkian assured Haniyeh that Iran will keep supporting the Palestinian nation and its struggle against the occupation and the apartheid Zionist regime as a humanitarian and Islamic duty.
The Islamic Republic will continue to offer unwavering support for the oppressed Palestinian people until the full restoration of their rights, fulfillment of their goals, and the liberation of al-Quds, the president-elect stated.
He also expressed confidence that Palestine will be the ultimate victor in light of the historic resistance shown by the people of Palestine and Gaza and the heroic efforts made by the resistance fighters in the ongoing war against the Israeli regime.
Pezeshkian, a physician-turned-politician, won the Iranian presidential runoff election on July 5 by winning 53.66% of the votes.
His new administration, the 14th one after the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, will hold office for four years.
