TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian and Uzbek officials are considering to increase the value of bilateral trade to $1 billion.

Economy

Iran’s Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance (MEAF) Abdolnasser Hemmati and Uzbekistan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Jamshid Anwar Kuchkarov met and held talks in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).

During the meeting, the two sides decided to follow up the previously inked agreements between Iran and Uzbekistan.

They talked about the ways to resolve monetary-banking problems, expand the transit relations between the two countries and increase the annual bilateral trade to $1 billion.

The Uzbek minister of economy, for his part, said that better relations with other countries is the main approach of the Uzbek government.

The development of international corridors is one of the main goal of cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran, Kuchkarov emphasized.

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a multilateral development bank whose mission is Financing Infrastructure for tomorrow in Asia and beyond—infrastructure with sustainability at its core.
