Instagram Experiences Global Outage, Access Issues

Instagram, the social media app owned by Meta, has been hit by a global outage, leaving users in various countries unable to access the platform. The Meta-owned app is working to resolve the issue.

Thousands of users reported problems on Downdetector, a service-monitoring platform, with a significant spike in complaints from the UK and India.

In the UK, nearly 500 outage reports were logged within a 10-minute window, while over 1,500 issues were reported in India.

Approximately 60% of users experiencing difficulties were unable to access Instagram's website, while 20% reported problems with logging in.

In total, Downdetector has recorded nearly 4,000 reports of disruptions in the past hour from users across different regions.

Instagram's website displays a message for affected users stating, "We’re working on getting the problem fixed as soon as we can."
