In a statement on Friday, Esmaeil Baqaei reiterated Iran’s principled position in censuring all forms of terrorism and violent extremism, the Foreign Ministry’s website reported.

He stated that tackling the malign phenomenon requires collaboration among all nations at both regional and international levels.

Baqaei also extended sympathy to the victims and survivors of the atrocity and conveyed the condolences of the Iranian government and people to the government and the people of Pakistan.

Armed assailants have killed 20 miners and injured another seven at a small private coal mine in southwest Pakistan.

The attackers broke into the miners’ quarters in Dukki district in Pakistan’s restive Balochistan province on Thursday night, gathered the workers together and opened fire, according to Al Jazeera.

No group has immediately taken responsibility for the assault.
