In a telephone conversation on Wednesday, Araqchi and his Finnish counterpart Elina Valtonen discussed regional and international issues as well as the relations between Tehran and Helsinki.
Referring to the history of Iranians as a peace-loving nation, Araqchi said the root cause of the crisis in the region is the war-mongering and genocide of the Zionist regime, the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s website reported.
He also deplored the dual and contradictory approach of some European countries towards the Israeli crimes, saying it is unfortunate that despite the Zionist regime's heinous crimes and genocide in Palestine and Lebanon, the European Union has taken no proper action to deal with those law violations and crimes.
Valtonen, for her part, expressed concern about the humanitarian disasters in the region, hoping that peace and stability would be restored to West Asia as soon as possible.
She noted that stopping the violence requires the continuation of talks among all parties.
In the telephone conversation, the two ministers underscored the need to continue consultations aimed at expanding bilateral relations and strengthening consular cooperation.
