Iran Fails to Advance to 2024 Asian Women's Handball Championship Final
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran lost to South Korea 33-20 in the 2024 Asian Women's Handball Championship semifinals on Sunday.
Team Melli Banovan, who had lost to Japan 34-14 and defeated India 32-30 and Hong Kong 26-17 in Group B, will play the loser of Japan and Kazakhstan in the third-place match.
Iran has already qualified for 2025 World Women's Handball Championship as one of the top four teams.
The competition, taking place from December 1 to 10, 2024 in New Delhi, India, is the 20th edition of the Asian Women's Handball Championship.
The tournament is held under the aegis of the Asian Handball Federation and acts as the Asian qualifying tournament for the 2025 World Women's Handball Championship, with the top four teams qualifying for the 2025 World Women's Handball Championship.
